Julie Norvaisas kicked off Co-Lab Continued 2025 by reflecting on how our relationship with AI has evolved—and how that evolution parallels her own journey from initial skepticism to a more fluent, curious engagement.
She emphasized that we’re no longer debating whether AI belongs in our work—it’s already here, and shaping our field in real time. Through humor, candor, and cultural references (including Alice in Wonderland), Julie encouraged the Co-Lab community to lean into the chaos, complexity, and creative potential of this AI-infused era of UX.
She delivered two central provocations: first, that AI is creating a power shift that favors UX—if we act with intention—and second, that we should stop treating AI like a teammate or a threat.
Instead, we should see it as a tool, one that augments rather than replaces our human capabilities. She introduced five tarot-style archetype cards as a playful yet provocative way to explore our reactions to AI and this “new UX.” The result is a thoughtful, energizing, and unapologetically human invitation to co-shape the future of experience design—with imagination, responsibility, and community at the core.
